Day 7: Nanchang: Our girl is a sleeping, eating, pooping machine! (4/11/12)

Okay, TMI, but she made doodie!  As any parent knows, the lack of doodie can ruin your day and we had not seen any out of our girl since we met her.  She was eating plenty, so it had to be happening sometime.  Many of the babies have it a bit loose but many more seem to have constipation, so we were prepared for those possibilities.  Our girl has stayed true to form, making things easy on us.  It came at the 2:30 a.m. feeding with minimal effort.  We did get a couple of servings of baby food prunes into her over the last couple of days, so that may have helped.  She has been sleeping a lot and eating a lot.  We are thinking we are putting her into a food coma every time we feed her a big meal.  Quite to our surprise, she made doodie again about 12 hours later.  Solid food seems to be agreeing with her!

Sweet potatoes for breakfast

Today, Tam dozed off again just at the end of our Skype call to home just as we were leaving for our outing with Evelyn.  We headed to the Pavilion of Prince Teng where we saw a music/dancing performance and where Evelyn once again shared her encyclopedic knowledge of local history.  She told us that there is an oral and written examination to become a tour guide and she clearly knows her stuff!  The day started off sunny but turned to rain.  Several shots here of the pavilion inside and out and the view of Nanchang.

Tamasyn woke up just in time for the music/dance performance and decided to join in.

After the show, we paused to give her a snack, and the local ladies descended.  A group of adoptive parents came in as we were leaving and we met another baby from Tam's orphanage whose family had the same log-in date as us, 8/16/2006!

Tam went back to sleep after her snack.  We had lunch at a local restaurant close to the pavilion.  Local style food - 3 dishes plus rice and tea for about $15.  Not bad.

After lunch, it was all about playtime with Tam.  We fed her again and now she is in another marathon nap session (with dad snoring right alongside her).

Tummy raspberries!

  2. I love her just dancing along with the music and how she looks at the camera as if to say, "Yeah, I'm here. I'm cute. You love me."
